Families are not required to be Christian/religious to attend our school. We do provide a developmentally appropriate Chapel time once a week, as well as implement prayer daily during meal times.
Our developmentally appropriate chapel lessons highlight the everyday values present in Bible stories. Children learn about love, responsibility, forgiveness, and other important aspects of existing in community. They also learn simple songs and say daily prayers before mealtimes
Our teaching teams are structured to be consistent throughout each school year, with three full time teachers in each room. Floating teaching assistants also step into classrooms to provide additional support as needed.
We believe in the importance of having consistent caregivers in the classroom. Children thrive when they are able to develop secure attachments and positive relationships with their teachers.
At NQACC, transitions happen once a year. Each child completes one full year in their classroom and will move to a new classroom at the start of September when the new school year begins
Our teachers serve as loving role models to the children, demonstrating positive relationships and instilling in the children a love of learning. They work to prepare the children with the necessary skills and abilities to better understand and appreciate the world in which we live and the people who share this world with us.
Qualifications and Training include but are not limited to:
30 hours of STARS training in the first month of employment and at least 10 hours of training every year after.
CPR/First Aid, Food Handlers Card, Blood borne Pathogen Training and Universal Precautions, Child Abuse and Neglect training, Center Orientation
Each classroom has an hour dedicated playground time each day. Classrooms also go on walks around the center and use the SPU Loop area to play.
Especially in the warm and sunny months, children spend as much time outdoors as possible!
If your child is showing signs of being ready to potty train, you can start a conversation with their teachers. Each child will show signs of readiness at different times of the year and teachers are prepared to support this milestone.
Our Potty Training Policy details practices that should be implemented at home before officially beginning the process at school, as well as how potty training in group care works.
We are able to accommodate for children who experience food allergies as well as for those who have differing dietary needs for religious reasons. Please email office@nqacc.org for more information.
